• Nag Nag Nag undeniably spearheaded massive changes in the UK and global underground music scene since it's conception 6 years ago and pretty much revolutionised the face of clubbing, but anyone who visited in the last couple of years might have expected it tonight to be laid down peacefully to rest with the glory days only a distant memory. I spent my first few years in London partying between Trash (Mondays) and NNN (Wednesdays) and it is with sadness that I remember the demise of the former and worse still the dissolution of its memory. A tribute then to the legacy of NNN's golden days that many of the original faces came out last night (inc Boy George!, see below) to turn back the clock and immortalise the spirit and diversity that made NNN truly great. Long live NNN!

WEDNESDAY MAY 28th 2008......THATS ALL FOLKS......THE LAST EVER NAG NAG NAG!!!

Yes it's true, after more than 6 years of midweek mayhem this will be our last ever NagNagNag party. Jonny, Fil & Jojo will be playing "Greatest Hits" sets from the past 6 years. Performances by BOY GEORGE & SCOTTEE. Plus free "Best of Nag" CD up for grabs.

May 28, 2008 : The Death of Nag Nag Nag

    http://londonist.com/2008/05/the_death_of_na.php

Tonight marks the end of Wednesday's most famous club night - Nag Nag Nag. Borne out of the electroclash wave in the early naughties, Jonny Slut, Fil OK and JoJo De Freq have been packing the underground lair of Ghetto with many a fashionable wreck every week since.

At it's peak everyone wanted in from Bjork to Justin Timberlake, Bono to Christina Aguilera but it was the crowd of metro sexual DIY rule breakers and the outlandish music that kept the night fresh and fashionable. One of the greatest nights we had there was when Belgian techno wizard Vitalic took to the tiny DJ booth for Xmas 2005. Despite being used to playing the likes of Fabric, he was rewarded with lots of sweaty bodies packed into the basement going crazy to his music.

And so tonight it ends with a celebration to the club's 6 year history. Boy George and current scene hero Scottee will both be performing, while music will be classic tunes from across the years.

Busy at the best of times we expect tonight to be manic. Doors are at 10.30 but arrive as early as you really want to get in. There may be some queue jumps left at Trash Palace, Wardour Street if you're lucky

  • MARKET trader BOY GEORGE downed tools on his stall after being surrounded by fans.

On Saturday we revealed the fallen star was flogging £10 T-shirts in Spitalfields Market in East London. So the next day the ex CULTURE CLUB star's B-Rude stall was heaving.

Sadly, no one was buying. They just wanted to gawp.

A source said: “He got p****d off. He left after about an hour and asked a mate to cover for him.”

  • Legendary DJ's Fedde Le Grand, Boy George and Fergie are headlining the main arena at this year's Run to the Sun. The weekend event also features comedians, tribute acts, and of course the flashiest cars in town.

In the past the Run to the Sun team have brought to Newquay some of the world's finest DJs including Hedkandi, KraftyKuts, Ben McGowan, Lisa Lashes, Mauro Picotto, BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac and many more.

This year's line up is equally impressive. The Dutch DJ/Producer Fedde le Grand has become an artist of world stature thanks to his smash 'Put Your Hands Up for Detroit', which still fills dancefloors two years on.

Boy George is DJ'ing at RTTS 2008

Boy George is well known for his smash hits with Culture Club, but before, during and after the band he has always been a passionate DJ. He returns to Newquay as part of the RTTS line up for 2008.

And that's just the opening night on Friday 23 May.

On Saturday 24 May BBC Radio 1 DJ Fergie will take to the decks alongside Mauro Picotto, Adam Beyer, and local favourite Ben McGowan.

Marco V headlines the main arena on Sunday 25 May, while Lisa Lashes adds some glamour to the Run to the Sun decks.

Arena Two features live bands. This year Cornish three piece rock band Three Minute Warning will perform everything from Franz Ferdinand to the Beatles.

    BBC Radio 1's Fergie

Pronghorn, the UK's No1 Hill Billy band will be headlining RTTS on the Saturday night.

Sunday is the popular '70s night, so don those flares and boogie with The Coloursound Nation.

During the daytime, the cars take over.

When the festival was launched back in the late '80s around 70 cars turned up. It has continued to grow each year. Now thousands of car enthusiasts from across the UK and beyond travel to Newquay to indulge in this annual festival which attracts up to 100,000 visitors each year.

The car cruise organised by Volksworld heralds the beginning of the festival on Friday 23 May. Starting at Heston services on the M4, VW and Custom Car enthusiasts meet at various service stations enroute to the festival site in Newquay.

The cruise alone can attract in excess of 1000 cars creating a line of traffic over eight kilometres long.

Tregunnel Car Park in Newquay hosts the Show 'n' Shine event on the Sunday of Run to the Sun. It lasts all day and attracts somewhere in the region of 25,000 people.

Some of the finest cars in Europe can be seen at the event and it is up to the editors of Volksworld magazine and the National Association of Street Cars to decide who will walk away with the prize money.
