"Nous étions loin de nous savoir quand nous réserver George environ quatre mois qu'il le jour de Blackpool's Gay Pride week-end, donc c'est un grand hasard que nous avons probablement une des plus grandes icônes gay», déclare DJ résident Syndication Jason fubar.
Bien qu'il est né de la gloire que le leader de Culture Club, Boy George DJ'ing commencé trois ans avant son groupe le premier tableau succès.
"J'ai d'abord commencé la filature dossiers en 1979 aux côtés de Jeremy Healy, le plus dur à la tâche et bien rendu DJ je sais», dit-il. "Nous nous sommes rencontrés dans un autobus à Lewisham.
«J'ai été une blonde aux cheveux hérissés punk en route vers un amour emploi dans une imprimerie. Propped j'étais contre la fenêtre de l'autobus, demi-endormi, quand j'ai remarqué un oursin comme un écolier en uniforme scolaire chic, à l'exception d'une grande et très lumineux paire de «Teddy Boy» lianes clomping descendre du bus.
"Au cours des prochaines semaines, Jeremy et je gardais en cognant les uns les autres dans les gares, les boutiques de bienfaisance et concerts punk et nous sommes devenus amis."
Ils partageaient "une folie" pour l'achat de livres et l'ami Phillip Salon a ouvert son club de New Romantic planètes, ils ont été cordées comme DJs.
"Phillip savait que nous aiment bien être dans la boîte de DJ en plein écran et nous avons été trop bon marché.
"La musique est un éclectique, mélange de névrose actuelle danse pop, reggae millésime, crachats punk hymnes et nous avons même joué réductions de The Sound of Music.
«Au début, il s'agissait simplement de se débarrasser des parieurs à la clôture de temps, mais nous avons commencé à faire des demandes pour The Lonely chevrier et la montée Chaque montagne. Phillip entraînerait un quasi-fox-trot ou la valse et la foule qui refusent de quitter. Il a été méga camp. "
Après Culture Club vont et viennent, il est retourné à DJ'ing.
"Mon directeur a été absolument horrifié que je DJ'ing £ 300 pour une nuit dans les clubs et les dingy pensé qu'il aurait pour effet de détruire ma réputation.
"Mais j'avais atteint un point très réaliste en termes de la façon dont je regardais ma carrière. Le fait est, je n'ai pas eu une. Radio au Royaume-Uni et dans le monde étaient heureux de jouer Karma Chameleon mais qui a été et Je n'avais aucune envie d'être tenu dans le passé. "
Tout le monde n'a pas pris de bien vouloir le changement de rôle.
"Le meilleur conseil que j'ai jamais eu de Jon a été heureux.
«Je joue à Manchester et je n'ai un droit Clanger. John a dit,« au moins ils savent que vous êtes ici ". Je pense que certains DJs prendre trop au sérieux, ce n'est que jouer records."
