Boy George Offers to Sweep New York Streets Again / BOY GEORGE RE PROPOSE DE REBALAYER LES RUES A NEW YORK | 28 juin 2008
Boy George has offered to sweep the streets of New York again, if U.S. authorities let him enter the country to perform there.
The '80s pop star has been forced to cancel an American tour after he was denied a visa, because he stands accused of assaulting a male escort in the U.K., a charge he denies.
George performed community service with New York's sanitation department in August 2006, after he was convicted of falsely reporting a burglary and possession of drugs.
And he is prepared to perform the civic duty again -- if it will help his current case.
Speaking on NBC's "The Today Show" on Friday, the 47-year-old said, "If you let me in I'll take the broom, no problem.
"Everyone says it should be a humiliating experience. Does that mean the people who sweep are humiliated? I thought it was a good experience."
But he insists he will perform in America again, vowing to return next year: "I'm feeling very upbeat. What good is anger?
"It's disappointing because of the fans, but if it doesn't happen now, it'll happen in the New Year. It's not over. It's not like I'm going to have to continue my career via satellite! I will come back.
"If I have to wait, it'll be even better."

La pop star des années 80 a été forcé d'annuler une tournée américaine après qu'il s'est vu refuser un visa, parce qu'il est accusé d'avoir agressé un homme d'escorte au Royaume-Uni, une accusation qu'il nie.
George effectué de services communautaires de New York d'assainissement en service en août 2006, après qu'il a été reconnu coupable de faux rapports d'un cambriolage et possession de stupéfiants.
Et il est prêt à exécuter le devoir civique de nouveau - si elle contribuera à son espèce.
S'exprimant sur NBC "The Today Show" le vendredi, 47 ans, a dit: "Si vous laissez moi je vais prendre le balai, pas de problème.

Mais il insiste-t-il se produira de nouveau en Amérique, ils s'engageaient à revenir l'année prochaine: «Je me sens très optimiste. Quoi sert la colère?
«C'est décevant, parce que des ventilateurs, mais si elle ne se produit pas maintenant, ça va se passer dans la nouvelle année. Ce n'est pas fini. C'est pas que je vais devoir continuer ma carrière par satellite! Je reviendrai .
"Si je dois attendre, ce sera encore mieux."
