CULTURE Club star Boy George has appeared at court as a Warrington music promoter launched a lawsuit against him.

The troubled star and former drug addict took the stand at Manchester's Mercantile Court on Tuesday as Kasia Saleh from Winwick accused him of destroying her music business.

Ms Saleh is attempting to sue the 46-year-old musician for loss of earnings after he pulled out of a performance at the launch night of her Club GAY USA in Los Angeles.

The court heard Boy George, real name George O'Dowd, cancelled after he was arrested for possession of cocaine which the Warrington promoter claims tarnished the reputation of her new business-it later folded.

Ms Saleh said she invested around £100,000 in the music enterprise.

Boy GEORGE star de Culture Club,  est apparu à la cour de justice contre un promoteur de musique Warrington qui a lancé un procès contre lui.

L'exentrique star et ancien drogué a pris position à la Manchester's Mercantile Court mardi car Kasia Saleh de Winwick l'a accusé de détruire ses affaires de musique.

Mme Saleh essaie de poursuivre le musicien de 46 ans en justice pour la perte de profits après qu'il a tiré d'une performance à la nuit de lancement de son Club GAY USA à Los Angeles.

La cour de justice a entendu dire que Boy George, le nom réel George O'Dowd, a annulé après qu'il a été arrêté pour la possession de cocaïne suite aux revendications du promoteur Warrington qui ont ternie la réputation de ses nouvelles affaires - il s'est plié plus tard.

Mme Saleh a dit qu'elle a investi environ £100,000 dans l'entreprise de musique.

Donc pour alimenter ce silence, les "soit disant" fans anglais meublent leur forum à coup  d'histoires malsaines, en s'affutant ongles et crises hysteriques, en criant haut et fort "cette photo est à moi, AU voleur!!!!!!!!! Bref,  Votre unique site français de Boy George à ce jour, a le mérite de faire parler de lui en Angleterre, dans les forums des sites de Boy Georgette..... et toutes les tapioles anglaises pia pia piattent car elles n'ont rien d'autres à jacter dans leur triste vie... (ben oui, normal?!! George ne donne pas de nouvelles de lui..... a part grossir... (coc ou alimentation??? les deux en somme....).

Moi , je ne reste pas impassible à cela et m'occupant (un peu..????!!) de vous, j'ai surfé sur youtube et vous ai trouvé des perles rares  (passage tv française)  de Boy George au top de sa forme avec Culture Club en chantant  "the war song" en france.

Ca y est!! Une nouvelle polémique vient de faire face contre votre site francais preferé....

En effet, sylvia (une fan francaise que peut etre certain d'entre vous connaisse) m'a envoyé par email, tout un tas d'avatars
des clips de Boy george. Elle m'a effectivement dit qu'ils provenaient d'un site anglais sans le nommer.

Moi meme, radié de ce site, tout au moins du forum, je n'ai evidemment pas pu aller les "voler"!!! lol

D'apres sylvia qui s'en excuse car elle ne pensait pas à mal (ben oui nous les francais, ne sommes pas psychotique et ne pensont pas a mal... comme ces fans hysteriques tels jordan, de boy george). Elle m'a également informé qu'un topic a été créé insultant mon ancienne partenaire sarah (dieu ai son ame!!) qui a abandonné l'idée de faire fonctionner ce site, il y a pas mal de mois maintenant....

Il parrait que jordan pleure et ne dort plus la nuit car ses avatars lui ont été volés pour etre publiés sur notre site!!!! Il insulte sarah de sale putain, de chienne, de salope.. il affirme meme que sarah lui souhaite la mort?????!!!!!!?????? ha bon?

HE'S not the first person you would expect to see queuing outside the High Court in Manchester puffing on a cigarette.

But Boy George - troubled pop star, cult hero and former drug addict - diligently took his position in line as he waited to respond to accusations from a Cheshire promoter that he and his agent had caused her business to go under.

Shaven-headed and revealing a magnificent tattoo, Boy George smiled and chatted to the public as he waited to make his appearance in court.

Once on the witness stand, the former Culture Club star talked freely of his cocaine addiction and his high-profile New York arrest in 2005 as he responded to accusations brought by a Cheshire promoter that he and his agent had caused her business to go under.

Kasia Saleh, of Winwick, Warrington claims that by cancelling his performance at her Halloween launch night event at a club in Los Angeles in 2005, the DJ had created caused such bad press for her fledgling business - Club GAY USA - that it folded.

The 46-year-old musician had left his New York base and returned to England a few weeks before the gig after he was arrested for possession of cocaine.

Ms Saleh maintains that even though she managed to replace the star with top DJ Junior Vasquez, the Factory nightclub ended up only a quarter full and her operation was doomed.

She told the court she had set up a string of nights at the same club but her brand was irreversibly "tarnished".

Boy George came to court wearing a dark coat and a pair of wrap-around sunglasses. His short hair revealed a Star of David tattoo on his scalp. He signed autographs outside the court and in the waiting room for fans.

Representing Ms Saleh, Martin Budworth said Boy George and his then-agent Andria Law had agreed to do the gig with two other DJs at a reduced rate of $10,000 as a favour to launch his client's GAY USA brand.

But Boy George, real name George O'Dowd, told His Honour Judge David Waksman that he hadn't known there was anything special about the night.

"It was just a gig for us," he said. "I didn't know she was building the business around it. I had been arrested on a drug charge which was very traumatic, I was addicted to taking cocaine and anyone with a brain cell can see that the worst place for me to be was in a night club because night clubs are full of drugs.

"I asked for my whole diary to be cleared."

Boy George, who gave a London address, told Manchester's Mercantile Court that Andria Law, who ran Red Parrot Agency at the time, had pocketed his fee without his knowledge.

"She was stealing money from me, it had been going on for a while and I'd ignored it. I'd known her since she was 16 - she'd been a fan," he said.

He said after trying in vain to resolve the matters, Andria failed to turn up to four or five meetings and "in effect resigned".

Mr Budworth said that in his statement Boy George claimed that he had not been in a fit mental state to perform but he asked why that wasn't backed up by any medical evidence.

Boy George said: "I was a drug addict, I was seeing a psychiatrist, I'm very aware that my mental state wasn't good at all - I was very ill.

"I haven't relied on the evidence of a psychiatrist because I'm telling the truth and I'm relying on that to be enough."

Boy George also revealed that he hadn't been able to commit to an earlier date that Ms Saleh had suggested because he practiced something called Nine Ki - a cross between numerology and feng shui, which meant he couldn't fly in certain directions on certain days.

Ms Saleh claims that she invested around £100,000 in total to set up the launch night and the following gigs - including rebranding the first one.

Edmund Cullen, representing Boy George, said Ms Saleh hadn't produced enough evidence to support her claims of costs.

He also claimed that even if his client had appeared the launch night and the business would have flopped. He also told the court that Ms Saleh had been disqualified as a company director by the Secretary of State for 10 years after the dishonest behaviour of her co-directors.
