Ricky Martin, Boy George speak out against gay attack in Chile
The man, Daniel Zamudio, is currently in a medically induced coma, after being severely beaten in a Santiago park earlier this month. Zamudio suffered a broken leg and severe head trauma due to the attack.
Both Martin and Boy George have voiced their support of Zamudio via Twitter.
Martin, who publicly came out in 2010, posted a message to his fans saying: "No more hatred, no more discrimination. I hope that justice is done NOW. Lots of light to Daniel and his whole family."
Boy George also voiced his disbelief about the attack, sharing an article about Zamudio on his Twitter and saying: "This is awful!! Chile come on!! Prayers for Daniel!"
This is not the first time either singer has spoken out in advocacy for gay rights. Martin was honoured in 2011 at the GLAAD awards for his contributions to the LGBT community.
He most recently guest starred on Fox's Glee, and played Che in a revival of Evita on Broadway.
