La tournée en decembre de CULTURE CLUB REBORN a été annulée et est reporté plus tard en 2007 avec la sortie d'un nouveau cd du groupe qui precedera la sortie 'un album de dix titres. GEORGE a beaucoup critiqué SAM BUTCHER et le groupe prefère sortir des titres inédits afin de calmer la polémique et de couper le cordon du groupe avec GEORGE. Le manager du groupe ne veut pas prendre le risque de faire une tournée sans avoir la crédibilité du groupe auprés du public.
Troubled 1980s pop group CULTURE CLUB have upset fans by suddenly pulling out of their comeback tour next month (DEC06), citing recording commitments.
Remaining original band members JON MOSS, PHIL PICKETT and MIKEY CRAIG recruited unknown SAM BUTCHER to replace frontman BOY GEORGE earlier this year (06) for the 12-date UK tour, and George has since called Butcher as "dreadful".
Culture Club has decided to postpone touring to coincide with a single release in 2007.
A statement from Culture Club's management reveals the group did not want to run the risk of "deliver(ing) a less than incredible show" while they concentrate on writing and recording ten tracks for a forthcoming album. At their peak, Culture Club's original line-up sold over 45 million albums, and enjoyed global success with hits KARMA CHAMELEON and DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME?
