Je le disais précedemment, l'inspiration du groupe s'essoufle et la cohésion du groupe fait défaut!
Rien d'étonant que ce 3eme album WAKING UP WITH THE HOUSE ON FIRE, manque de puissance et d'homogénéité......
Malgrés l'énorme succes de THE WAR SONG, l'album ne décolle pas dans les charts ou tres peu...
Les ETAS UNIS commencent par bouder boy george, victime d'homophobie et de menaces de mort à DALLAS....
La maison de disque décida de sortir THE MEDAL SONG en guise de 2eme single pour sauver les chutes de l'album....
Mais celui ci ne reussira pas à décoller dans les charts et ce fut le 1er single FLOP de culture club... il resta uniquement n°32 en ANGLETERRE et par consequent aucunes sorties de ce single fut prévu dans le reste du monde....
Le clip retrace tant bien que mal un homage à l'actrice FRANCES FARMER.... mais en vain...

Beaucoup d'actualités sur CULTURE CLUB pour les Fêtes de fin d'années 1984!
UN LIVE EN VHS (je rappelle que le dvd n'existait pas!), un BEST OF "THE TIME", le SINGLE "the war song" et surtout l'abum "WAKING UP WITH TO THE HOUSE ON FIRE"!!!!!
HELAS, on verra par la suite, que le succes n'est plus au rendez vous....
THE WAR SONG RESTANT LE DERNIER SUCCES A ETRE DANS LES 5 PREMIERS DES CHARTS....

APRES QUELQUES MOIS DE REPOS BIEN MERITE, LA DEFERLANTE CULTURE CLUB SESSOUFLE UN PEU....
ILS DECIDENT A LA HATE TOUT DE MEME DE SE REMETTRE AU TRAVAIL ET SORTENT EN MEME TEMPS QUE LE SINGLE "the war song", L'ALBUM WAKING UP WITH TO THE HOUSE ON FIRE.....
LE SINGLE SORT EN NOVEMBRE 1984
THE WAR SONG devient N°1 en FRANCE!!!! C'est le seul pays d'ailleurs.....!
L'ANGLETERRE classe le single N°2!
N°3 en Australie, N°4 en Italy et N°13 aux ETATS UNIS....
La face b en france s'intitule : la chanson de guerre dont le refrain est chanté en français....
Manifestement, dans les autres pays, la face b est chanté dans chaque langue natale! ORIGINAL!!!!

Avant de sortir le 3eme album, Boy George est convoqué par BOB GELDOF (ainsi que Marilyn) pour participer à une chanson caritative pour le tiers monde....
